In this article, I want to introduce you to something a bit different – a rowing machine that’s still relatively new to the market, and has a very exciting USP… Bluetooth! In this Fitness Reality 1000 Plus Bluetooth Magnetic Rower review we’ll take a closer look at one of the first bluetooth rowers to come on the market and see how it stands up against similarly priced competitors including Stamina and Sunny Healthy & Fitness.
Rowers are one of the most popular home fitness machines right now in 2021. And what’s not to like about an exercise machine that doesn’t just give you a decent cardio workout, but also works numerous muscles in the body to build strength, tone, and fitness? They’re also pretty compact (some are even foldable), and best of all – most rowing machines are very affordably priced.
It’s not that easy to choose though when they all look pretty much the same and have very similar features and specs. In this age of tech innovation though, the promise of a Bluetooth rowing machine is certainly interesting!
Let’s take a look at some of the features and specs included with the Fitness Reality 1000 Plus Bluetooth Magnetic Rower:

It’s a Bluetooth Rower!
How could we NOT start with this? A rower with BLUETOOTH and compatible with the free MyCloudFitness app (for iOS and Android)…
If you’re a fan of The Big Bang Theory you might remember Sheldon Cooper said it best – “EVERYTHING is better with Bluetooth”. But does that ring true for rowing machines, or is it an unnecessary gimmick?Personally, I like it. You could buy another model and get by without it, but if you like using your phone to track stuff like this, then it’s a fun AND useful addition.
- Calories burned
- Weight
- Heart rate averages and maximums
- Workout durations
- Distance
- Speed average
You can manage your workout goals, set nutrition tracking and more on the MyCloudFitness website, and you’ll be able to see your data wherever you are if you’ve got access to the website or app.
A definite thumbs up for this feature!
Only rower with additional exercises
Normally a rowing machine is for rowing only, but with these exercises, you can also use it to target your legs, thighs, shoulders, forearms, triceps and biceps.
I’m not sure I’d use a rowing machine for these exercises myself, but I’m sure some users would find them useful. It’s always nice to have the option.
Getting started – is it easy to assemble?
Thankfully, yes! As someone who doesn’t like assembly (I’d prefer to get started using the item straight away) this is actually quite easy to put together. And it’s not overly time-consuming because it’s already part assembled. Most people take approximately 40-45 minutes and you can do it on your own. All parts and tools are included.
If you really don’t want to assemble yourself, if you purchase from Amazon you have the option of adding their “Expert Assembly” option when checking out (see the price here). I’m not sure it’s worth it as it’s so easy to do it yourself, but the option is there should you need it.

What are customers saying – the good and the bad
The following are just a few comments I thought you might find useful if you’re interested in buying this magnetic rower:
“Very quiet machine” (magnetic rowers usually are)
“The seat is firm so I will need to get a cushion for it” (a few people mentioned this – it’s a common problem with exercise machines)
“Well built and easy to assemble”
“…this is a quality rower for the price…”
” I love that it has the free app to help you track everything you’re doing”
“It’s larger and longer than I thought it would be” (always check dimensions before you buy to make sure you have enough room)
Who is it suitable for?
This will suit pretty much anyone who wants to get a decent full body workout at home. The Fitness Reality 1000 Plus Rower is suitable for anyone of height 4’9″ to 6’6″ (seat travels 39″ on the slide rail) and weight up to 250lbs.
Easy to store
Yes, and it takes less than a minute to fold it down for storage or put it back together for use. Not everyone has a huge amount of space for an exercise machine in their homes, so some people have to fold it up after every use. This is easy to do if you don’t have the room to leave it out. It’s quite heavy if you want to move it around though but there are transportation wheels for easy relocation.
Is it affordable?
One of the things I like most about this rower is the price. It is VERY competitively priced for what you get – I certainly would’ve expected to pay more for a Bluetooth rowing machine. Check it out at this link:
Final Verdict
I didn’t expect to be particularly impressed by this rowing machine, but I must admit I like it a lot so far. Fitness Reality is a brand that’s relatively new to the market, and the Fitness Reality 1000 Plus Bluetooth rower only came out in 2019, but there are already a huge amount of very positive reviews. This is a top seller right now and I think it will continue to be for the foreseeable future.
It’s well made and sturdy – it seems like it’s built to last. And it’s very easy to use. As I’m not a fan of self-assembly, I like that the assembly is actually quite easy and straightforward! It’s also easy to put away when not in use.
Being the one of the only Bluetooth rowers, and only rowing machine with additional exercises (according to the manufacturers – I couldn’t find any others either) it’s certainly worth checking out if these are features you’d be interested in. Personally, I like using apps for tracking fitness data so I like that this hooks up with the MyCloudFitness app so that you can set goals, track your workouts etc.
How does it compare with other magnetic rowers in its price range? So far it compares very favorably – in fact, it outshines them in terms of features. The Sunny Health & Fitness SF-RW5515 is a favorite of mine, but it doesn’t have Bluetooth or app compatibility.
So do I recommend it?
It’s definitely worth checking out. So far the Fitness Reality 1000 Plus seems like an excellent rower and well worth the very affordable price. To quote one particular user review I found:
It’s a little close to the ground but for the price point it’s pretty darn amazing!
You can’t really go wrong with a purchase like this, and a rowing machine is a great investment in your health.
Where to buy the Fitness Reality 1000 Rower?
It’s available on both Amazon and Walmart.
