Buyer Guide –  tips on where to start

Some things to take into consideration when buying a treadmill:

  • Who is it for? Are you buying the machine for yourself? Or maybe you’re buying for someone else (a treadmill would make a fantastic Christmas gift!) Is it for an individual, or will the whole family be using it?
  • Users needs: Will it specifically be for weight loss, or just to get fit and lead a more active, healthy life? Is it just for walking (some treadmills are designed specifically for walkers), a beginner running program, or is it for a seasoned runner who will want higher speeds and an incline?
  • Required features: Does it need to be a folding treadmill for easy storage? What kind of console and tech do you want included? Bluetooth connection? Speakers? What size running area do you want? If your home gym space is limited you may need to take the overall dimensions into consideration. Will you want an automatic incline with a good range (cheaper models usually only have a limited manual incline). Speeds and weight capacity may also be a factor in your purchase.
  • Quality and durability: Although there are plenty cheaper models on the market, you’ll probably want one that’s built to last. A treadmill is a good investment but it’s worth paying a bit more to get one that won’t cause you problems after just 6 months of use! We like to browse Amazon.com to read customer reviews and experiences before buying an expensive item like this. The good thing about buying a black Friday treadmill is that you should be able to get a higher quality model at a reduced price at this time of year!

Why buy your treadmill at this time of year?

Black Friday is every shopper’s favorite time of year and the good news is that it’s not just Friday any more. Although many of the best sales will be on the day only, some will start as early as the week before, some last all weekend until Cyber Monday, and some last all the way until Christmas!

Although there are many “door buster sales” in shops, some of the best discounts can be found online. Retailers such as Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart and Dick’s Sporting Goods stock a great range of treadmills so their prices are worth checking out. Heavy goods like fitness equipment are almost always best purchased online to save on expensive shipping fees (many online retailers ship for free!). And unless you’re a fan of the Black Friday sale chaos – crazy “deal seeking” crowds, cold weather etc. it’s a lot easier just to shop from the comfort of your home online. It’s definitely worth checking out some of the offers above or browse our site for more recommendations.
